OUT OF HOURS

If you need to speak to a doctor for a medical emergency outside normal surgery hours please ring 0845 609 2244. All out of hours calls are triaged by a specialist nurse from NHS Direct who will give you advice and decide whether and when you need to speak to a doctor. If the nurse decides that you need to speak to a doctor before the start of the next surgery, you will be contacted by a doctor from IDOC (a co-operative of all island GPs who will assess you and give appropriate advice, either by asking you to come to the surgery which is located at St Mary’s Hospital for an examination, or organise a home visit).

DISABLED ACCESS

West Street Surgery
We have a disabled treatment room on the ground floor level. Please advise our receptionist if you are unable to manage the stairs.

Wootton Bridge Surgery
Both the Doctor and Nurse Practitioner’s consulting rooms are on ground floor level. We would encourage patients with mobility problems to use the Wootton surgery in preference.
